FREE OF CHARGE BASIC HEALTH CARE FOR NON-RESIDENT STUDENTS ENROLLED AT THE UNIVERSITÀ DEGLI STUDI DI PERUGIA
The Università degli studi di Perugia offers its non-resident students (both EU students and non EU students) the opportunity to take advantage of free basic health care provided by general practitioners or emergency medical care doctors.
This is based on a convention that the Università degli studi di Perugia, particularly focused on promoting the quality of university life, has financed and signed with the local Halth care sistem, USL Umbria 1, which allows non-resident students temporarily domiciled in the municipality of Perugia to access the service (without giving up the family doctor in the municipality of residence, if Italian).
Thanks to this initiative, non-resident students will be able to take advantage of medical examinations and related prescriptions of drugs and / or specialized services within the National Health System. The service is provided by general practitioners and emergency medical care doctors included in the list published here on July,1st 2014.
This is an absolutely innovative service in Italy, which aims to promote the success of non-resident students and their better integration into the local community.
