- Analysis of the development of Perugino's artistic career and Raphael's beginnings in relation to the research and new scientific results resulting from the various exhibitions promoted during the fifth centenary of the deaths of Perugino, Raphael, and Signorelli (2021-2023). The development of their career will also find moments of comparison with that of Luca Signorelli, who was also the subject of a recent exhibition.

- The student will be able to read the surrounding historical and artistic environment and be able to describe and argue on the main critical trends relating to the sixteenth century in Umbria.
- Prerequisites
- A good knowledge of the main figurative phenomena of the fifteenth and early sixteenth centuries.
- Teaching methods
- Lectures with interactive dynamics and frequent student involvement. Educational visits to the National Gallery of Umbria and to the main settlements of the sixteenth century courts in Umbria.
- Learning verification modality
- Frequent dialogues that stimulate learning and comparison.
- Extended program
- The problem of Pietro Perugino's artistic training and the culture of the cycle of the Miracles of San Bernardino. Perugino's works in Umbria. The parallel development of Pintoricchio's language. The presence of Luca Signorelli in Umbria and the debut of the young Raphael.
