- The chip is one final step on the student's ability to interpret diagnostic and surgical aspects of some soft tissue pathology of large animals. The main objective of the CIP is to provide practical sessions via the foundations to address some soft tissue surgical conditions of large animals.
The main focus of the knowledge acquired will be especially for; Practical Radiographic, Ultrasonographic and TC interpretations in large animals soft tissue diseases. Practical laparotomy. Practical laringotomy. Practical Enterotomy
The main skills (ie the ability to apply their knowledge) will be the acquisition by the student to manage soft tissue cases from diagnosis to surgery - Prerequisites
- In order to understand and be able to apply most of the procedures of the CIP, students must have passed the examinations of Veterinary Surgery I and II. For some topics covered in the CIP will require the ability to interpret the x-ray and ultrasound images in order to follow the course with profit.
- Teaching methods
- he chip is organized as follows:
practical exercises in surgical or ambulatory rooms of the Surgery Unit of the OVUD. Students according to the number, will be divided into two or three groups and as a group take place directly on the patient diagnostic procedures (two hours), the other group will follow under the teacher supervision the teaching material (slides) about the different stepe to be used to address the surgical diseases showed and/or improve with the use of the diagnostic/ surgical procedures described (two hours) - Other information

Meetings, Journal Club and seminars with PhD students, interns and students by planning and agreeing with the class during the course - Learning verification modality
- The examination includes knowledge evaluation of the student during the cip obout the more widely used diagnostic techniques, surgical diseases addressed and how the student deal with the resolution of the case. The final score will be delivered with a "suitability" of the candidate.
