The questions can cover various topics related to internal medicine, including symptoms, diagnosis, treatments, medications, and disease management.
Examiners may ask theoretical questions about the diseases and medical conditions covered during the course of Internal Medicine. They may inquire about explaining the pathophysiological mechanisms of certain diseases, diagnostic criteria, treatment options, and possible complications.

Students may be asked to discuss specific clinical cases, providing a medical history, symptoms, diagnostic tests, and treatment options for the imaginary patient. Examiners will assess the student's ability to think clinically, formulate diagnostic hypotheses, and select appropriate therapies.

1. Internal Medicine 1: Medical Semeiotics Module 1; Medical Semeiotics Module 2; Professional internship in Medical Semeiotics.
2. Internal Medicine 2 - 5th year: Modules 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
3. Internal Medicine 3 - 6th year: Modules 6, 7, 8, 9, 10; Professional Training in Internal Medicine I and II.
The training objectives are:
- a multidisciplinary, interprofessional and integrated vision of the most common problems of health and disease.
- an education oriented towards disease prevention and health promotion within the community and the hospital.
- an in-depth knowledge of the diagnostic and therapeutic algorithms for the main organ and systemic pathologies, as well as the acquisition of diagnostic and therapeutic skills for complex clinical conditions, in order to complete the professional profile as a future doctor (the student must acquire the ability to carry out a differential diagnosis between pathologies starting from symptoms and clinical signs and combining these data with instrumental and laboratory data; the student must acquire the ability to identify the therapy of the main organ and systemic pathologies).
Prerequisites
The student must:
- have passed the exam in Medical Semeiotics
- know the signs and symptoms of the main diseases learned in Medical Semeiotics and in specialist disciplines.
Teaching methods
The teaching method adopted, useful for achieving the expected qualifying characteristics, takes advantage of the horizontal and vertical integration of the knowledge acquired in the training course and is mainly centered on the ability to solve problems and make decisions, on early contact with the patient, on the acquisition of a good ability both clinically and in the human relationship with the patient.
This teaching method consists of lectures and professional internships.

Learning verification modality
The examination is conducted in the form of an interview, typically lasting about 20-30 minutes, where the candidate answers questions posed by the committee members.
