- Specific admission requirements
- Formal Requirements Italian First cycle qualification (Laurea) or foreign equivalent in the same or related subject area, with possible extra work if required competences are lacking.
- Evaluation of specific subject knowledge on entry
- Verification of the knowledge required for the attendance of the course of study through a compulsory evaluation test of indicative and non-selective nature; if the test is not passed, the student will be given additional educational obligations and will be granted with: • alignment courses, • tutoring, • online alignment courses, • study of additional texts indicated by the course of study.
- Profile of the programme
- Programme Outline The degree course is divided into two curricula aiming at preparing the following professional figures: - Specialist Social Worker, capable of planning,, designing and organising systematic social policy interventions -Professional Leaders/Directors of Social Enterprises capable of co-ordinating and managing services in the private social services sector, aware of emerging needs in diverse contexts and able to propose social enterprises of innovative and sustainable nature Shared feaures of the two curricula are studies in economic, social, pyschological, anthropological, legal-political areas; and integrated with studies in governance, communication systems, territorial dynamics and economics-related studies
- Programme learning outcomes
- Graduates in this degree are able to elaborate, plan and direct programmes and services in the field of social services policy; possess suitable tools for analysis of the processes of social changes and be able to frame projects of governance and public and social policies within those processes. Graduates possess suitable tools to carry out efficient analysis, research and planning concerning principal social problems
- Qualification requirements and regulations
- Admission to the final test for the achievement of the qualification will require that the student has acquired all the credits foreseen in the study plan for training activities other than the final test. The final test for the achievement of the qualification is public and consists of the presentation of a thesis work to a special commission.
- Examination regulations and grading scale
- Assessment is normally an oral or written exam. The grades for subject exams are measured in thirtieths (0-30 scale), the minimum grade is 18/30 and the maximum grade is 30/30. The maximum grade can be enhanced with “cum laude” (30 cum laude), in case of excellence.
- Obligatory or optional mobility windows
- Mobility is elective. It can be undertaken flexibly –subject to agreement with the Department and necessary permission –with respect to the year, semester, lesson content and delivery modes
- Work-based learning
- This degree course incorporates internship programmes that allow the students to put their acquired knowledge into practice and develop useful workplace skills. For the benefit of students, successful relationships have been established with a number of companies, institutions and entities willing to provide them with support along shared, proven learning paths. A “Job Point” facilitates the organisation of the internships.
- Occupational profiles of graduates
- Careers for the graduate may be principally found in the professional figures of social enterprise leaders/directors and in exercising specialist social worker professions, subject to passing the national State examination for admission to the corresponding national practitioners’ register
