Specific admission requirements
Certificate of completion of Italian upper secondary school or equivalent foreign qualification.
Evaluation of specific subject knowledge on entry
Verification of the knowledge required for the attendance of the course of study through a compulsory evaluation test of indicative and non-selective nature; if the test is not passed, the student will be given additional educational obligations and will be granted with: • alignment courses, • tutoring, • online alignment courses, • study of additional texts indicated by the course of study. For planned access courses, the admission test is also valid as a test of initial knowledge and additional educational obligations acquisition.
Profile of the programme
The Degree Course in Design (Class L-4) aims to prepare new and versatile professional figures capable of operating critically, with high technical and artistic skills, in the design project sector, with specific attention to: - Interior Design: design of simple and complex interior areas and spaces and conversion of equipment, such as abandoned industrial sites; - Exhibit Design: design of the open and closed spaces of the towns; - Retail Design: design of commercial areas and spaces in a broad sense (from the point of sale to the shopping mall); - Product Design: design of industrial products in a broad sense and of the furnishing product designed for people and meeting the needs of companies.
Programme learning outcomes
The Degree Course provides for the coherent integration between theoretical knowledge and practical experience; the didactic offer proposes a dual historical-artistic and technical approach- laboratory. Are included external activities (traineeships at research institutions or institutes, laboratories, companies and public administrations) and / or periods of study at other high-level institutions, both national and international. It allows the necessary training to be able to enroll at the LM-12 Planet Life Design Master's Degree Program.
Qualification requirements and regulations
Before obtaining the qualification, the student must acquire a suitability which attests to the knowledge of the English language (3 CFU). Admission to the final test for the achievement of the qualification will require that the student has acquired all the credits foreseen in the study plan for training activities other than the final test. The final test for the achievement of the qualification is public and consists of the presentation of a thesis work (a multimedia work with a written technical-scientific-design report) to a special commission.
Examination regulations and grading scale
Assessment is an oral or written exam. The grades are measured in thirtieths (0-30 scale), minimum grade 18, maximum 30 (“cum laude” may be added). The final degree evaluation is expressed in one hundred and tenths (0-110 scale), minimum grade 66, maximum 110 (“cum laude” may be added).
Obligatory or optional mobility windows
39 agreements within the Erasmus + program with prestigious European Universities and Research Institutes (78 scholarships available) are operational. Students can carry out educational activities or internships supported by a monthly mobility grant.
Work-based learning
A mandatory curricular internship is foreseen in the third year at institutions, companies and professional studies (where the student prepares the degree thesis). It is a central experience in the training of the student who ideally concludes his training path and facilitates his insertion into the world of work. Group project activities are also promoted, in order to develop in the student the advanced relational and communication skills necessary in the professional field.
Occupational profiles of graduates
The main occupational prospects are: - freelance designer activity; - activities in public and private institutions; - activities in studios and design companies; - employment in companies and enterprises; - activity in public and private research institutions.
