- Formal Requirements Certificate of completion of Italian upper secondary school or equivalent foreign qualification.
- Evaluation of specific subject knowledge on entry
- Verification of the knowledge required for the attendance of the course of study through a compulsory evaluation test of indicative and non-selective nature; if the test is not passed, the student will be given additional educational obligations and will be granted with: • alignment courses, • tutoring, • online alignment courses, • study of additional texts indicated by the course of study. For planned access courses, the admission test is also valid as a test of initial knowledge and additional educational obligations acquisition.
- Profile of the programme
- The Degree Course allows you to acquire knowledge relating to the main areas of motor and sports education: - teaching and activities in the area of ¿¿motor and sports disciplines; - courses related to the biomedical area; - courses related to the legal and statistical area; - courses related to the psycho-pedagogical-social area. Motor and Sports Science graduates will be able to collect and interpret data relating to the various fields of interdisciplinary knowledge that characterize the motor sciences. In particular, the graduate must show independent judgment regarding the usefulness and specific methods of carrying out motor and sports activity programs, considering the risks and benefits of this for individual subjects.
- Programme learning outcomes
- Knowledge and understanding: Graduates must demonstrate knowledge of structural and functional aspects of human body systems and the characteristics of different physical activities and their effects on the body. They will be able to plan and manage physical activities for individuals and groups of people of different ages using sports equipment. Making judgements: Graduates are able to evaluate the appropriateness of an activity program and training according to age and physical condition, assessing the adequacy of the equipment used and the severity of any injuries. Communication skills: Graduates will be able to use correct and appropriate language in order to motivate athletes in exercise and physical activity. Learning skills: Graduates will learn that acquiring knowledge is a useful tool to improve professionalism.
- Qualification requirements and regulations
- Admission to the final test for the achievement of the qualification will require that the student has acquired all the credits foreseen in the study plan for training activities other than the final test. The final test for the achievement of the qualification is public and consists of the presentation of a thesis work to a special commission. The final exam consists in the discussion of a written dissertation concerning a topic, chosen by the student, relevant to the qualifying or specific objectives and coordinated by a responsible teacher. A commission composed of seven to eleven teachers is appointed to evaluate the discussion of the written dissertation presented by the student; the Professor in charge of the final exam takes on the role of Supervisor and is an effective member of the Commission.
- Examination regulations and grading scale
- Assessment is normally an oral or written exam; in some cases there are intermediate exams during the course; other evaluation elements (seminars, reports, etc.) can be foreseen in specific course units and are described in the Course Unit Profiles. The grades for subject exams are measured in thirtieths (0-30 scale), the minimum grade is 18/30 and the maximum grade is 30/30. The maximum grade can be enhanced with “cum laude” (30 cum laude), in case of excellence. Grades are given by an exam commission of at least two teachers, whose President is the chair of the subject. The main exam sessions are held in January/February, March/April, June/July, September/October. Students may retake exams, if not passed. The University provides an ECTS Grading Table, which shows the actual distribution of the examination and final grades among students for each degree programme. The final degree evaluation is expressed in one hundred and tenths (0-110 scale), the minimum grade is 66/110 and the maximum grade is 110/110. The calculation of the final grade of each candidate takes into account the average of the grades obtained in the subject exams, as well as the quality of the work performed in research or in the final thesis which is discussed in public before an exam commission. “Cum laude” (110 cum laude) may be added to the maximum grade if the exam commission decides unanimously.

- Work-based learning
- The course of study proposes the stipulation of agreements with sports federations, CONI, or public institutions specialized in motor and sports activities or private institutes with recognized experience in the same field, in order to organize training activities aimed at acquiring useful skills for the insertion of the student in the world of work, as well as training activities aimed at facilitating subsequent professional choices
- Occupational profiles of graduates
- The motor and sports professional will be able to serve as a freelancer or employee in: • Sports club at all levels; • Sports organizations and recreational and social associations; • Gyms; • Fitness centers, spas, tourist facilities; • Swimming pools; • Bodies and structures that deal with the promotion of sport; • Companies producing and distributing products and services related to the world of sport and physical activity.
