Know the terms of the artistic debate in the post-war Italian historical-political context and the varied expressive forms beyond the combination of abstractionism-realism.
Knowing how to frame authors and works in relation to the trends.- Prerequisites

Oral examination
The test, lasting about 30 minutes, includes questions on the topics covered in class starting from the recognition of the works, and on the texts indicated in the bibliography.
The ability to organize, critically rework and expose the contents appropriately through an adequate reading of the works will be verified.- Extended program
Through the analysis of visual sources and artist's writings, the course will analyze the multiple aspects of Italian art after the Second World War. Particular attention will be paid to the various positions of the cultural debate, to the promotion initiatives in the "art system" (galleries, national exhibitions, magazines etc.) which mark the openings and the renewal of languages.
Key points of the discussion will be: the main poles of artistic production; the linguistic koinè under the sign of neocubism;il "Fronte Nuovo delle Arti"; "Forma 1"; Guttuso and artists at Villa Massimo in Rome; "Gruppo degli Otto";
"Ultimo naturalismo".
