- Specific admission requirements
- Italian First cycle qualification (Laurea) or foreign equivalent in the same or related subject area, with possible extra work if required competences are lacking.
- Evaluation of specific subject knowledge on entry
- Verification of the possession of the curricular requirements with the methods indicated in the academic regulation of the course of study. Foreign students are required to take a test to verify their proficiency of the Italian language, except Erasmus Incoming students, Exchange Students and students in mobility as per the Cooperation Agreement.
- Profile of the programme
- The programme includes two curricula: Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity. Common lessons are provided for the acquisition of advanced knowledge relating to: artificial intelligence, advanced algorithms, methods for machine learning, high-performance computing, cybersecurity, computability and complexity. The characterizing themes are - "Artificial Intelligence" curriculum: agent models, complex networks, machine learning, computational intelligence, evolutionary algorithms, knowledge representation and automated reasoning, image processing - "Cybersecurity" curriculum: cybersecurity models, information security systems, cryptography, security auditing and certification, digital forensics.
- Programme learning outcomes
- Graduates of the Artificial Intelligence curriculum will in particular be able to design reasoning-oriented architectures and applications, machine learning, optimization and intelligent interaction between systems, devices, the environment and users. Graduates of the Cybersecurity curriculum will in particular be able to: design and develop secure solutions for IT products, systems and processes; test and certify digital products and processes; acquire evidence and analyze digital forensics scenarios.
- Qualification requirements and regulations
- To be admitted to the final exam, the student must have acquired all the credits foreseen in the study plan. The final exam is public and consists in presenting your thesis work to a commission. The thesis must be related to an innovative or research topic, concerning information technology or its applications and must document the original results obtained. It can be carried out during the internship, as well as in the context of study stays at Italian and foreign universities or research centers.
- Examination regulations and grading scale
- Assessment is an oral or written exam; intermediate exams are possible during the course as well as project works or report. The grades are measured in thirtieths: the minimum to pass the exam is 18/30. The maximum grade can be enhanced with “cum laude” (30 cum laude).
- Obligatory or optional mobility windows
- Mobility windows are usually aligned with semesters, by they can be defined and used in a flexible way depending on need and requirements of the single student.
- Work-based learning
- The course of studies provides an internship program: all the students have to spend a period in a company, research center or laboratory. The main aims are: - acquire specific competences - gain valuable work experience - facilitate the transition to a job - Explore a potential career path - Network with professionals in the field It is mandatory to obtain 3 ECTS corresponding to 75 working hour.
- Occupational profiles of graduates
- The typical occupational areas are those of the analysis and formalization of complex problems, the design, development and management of highly complex, quality and innovative IT systems (with high standards of reliability, performance and security) in particular in the fields of Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity.
