Specific admission requirements
Formal Requirements Certificate of completion of Italian upper secondary school or equivalent foreign qualification.
Evaluation of specific subject knowledge on entry
Verification of the knowledge required for the attendance of the course of study through a compulsory evaluation test of indicative and non-selective nature; if the test is not passed, the student will be given additional educational obligations and will be granted with: • alignment courses, • tutoring, • online alignment courses, • study of additional texts indicated by the course of study. Foreign students are required to take a test to verify their proficiency of the Italian language, except Erasmus Incoming students, Exchange Students and students in mobility as per the Cooperation Agreement
Profile of the programme
This degree course provides the necessary competences for operating in analysis and management of situations of social disadvantage. Teaching focuses attention on sociological, pyschological and legal competences. The degree course provides suitable professional knowledge for handling social and social-health services’ activities in the public and private sectors. It equips the graduate to be able to work in all phases of social intervention for the prevention, support and rehabilitation of individuals, families and groups in situations of disadvantage and need. This degree course is a course of professional preparation of the social worker and gives access to the state examination for the Social Worker (B).
Programme learning outcomes
Graduates will be able to manage all phases of social intervention for the prevention of, the support of and the rehabilitation of subjects or groups in situations of need or disadvantage; to manage specific interventions in the field of policies and social services, knowing how to manage forms of collaboration with voluntary/third sector organizations; to collect and process social and psycho-social data.
Qualification requirements and regulations
Assessment is normally an oral or written exam. The grades for subject exams are measured in thirtieths (0-30 scale), the minimum grade is 18/30 and the maximum grade is 30/30. The maximum grade can be enhanced with “cum laude” (30 cum laude), in case of excellence.

Obligatory or optional mobility windows
Mobility is elective. It can be undertaken flexibly –subject to agreement with the Department and necessary permission –with respect to the year, semester, lesson content and delivery modes
Work-based learning
This degree course incorporates internship programmes that allow students to put into practice their acquired knowledge and develop useful workplace skills. For the benefit of the students, successful relationship have been established with a number of companies, institutions and entities willing to engage student interns and to provide them with support. to develop their competences along shared, proven learning paths. A “Job Point” facilitates the organisation of internships.
Occupational profiles of graduates
Graduates of the three-year (First Cycle) degree course in Social Services will principally find occupation as practitioners in Social Assistance/Work, subject to passing the national State examination for admission to the corresponding national practitioners’ register.
